About Us
The purpose of the Disc Golf Club of the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point is to: 1. Promoting and facilitating diverse disc golf programs both on campus and within the broader Stevens Point community. 2. Increasing awareness and appreciation of disc golf, a sport that is gaining global recognition. 3. Fostering collaboration and interaction among university students, faculty, staff, and the wider community. 4. Providing opportunities for students to develop leadership skills and enhance personal growth. 5. Uniting disc golf enthusiasts from the university and surrounding areas to build a vibrant community. 6. Raising funds and mobilizing volunteer efforts for the maintenance, repair, and enhancement of existing disc golf courses, as well as the development of new courses in the Stevens Point region. 7. Youth Engagement and Education: To promote disc golf among younger audiences through workshops, clinics, and school partnerships, fostering interest in the sport from an early age and encouraging healthy outdoor activities. 8. Sustainability Initiatives: To advocate for environmentally responsible practices within the disc golf community, including course maintenance and event organization, in order to protect and enhance the natural landscapes where we play. 9. Competitive Development: To create opportunities for members to participate in competitive disc golf events, including tournaments and leagues, helping to develop skills and sportsmanship while representing UW-Stevens Point. 10. Inclusivity and Accessibility: To ensure that disc golf is accessible to all individuals, regardless of skill level, background, or physical ability, by providing adaptive equipment and creating welcoming events that encourage participation from diverse groups.
