Stephanie Vang
Stephanie Vang is an alumna of the University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point, where she graduated in 2022 with a Bachelor of Arts in History, with a focus on Race & Ethnicity, and a minor in Political Science. During her studies, she made a remarkable discovery in the CIA historical archives about her grandfather, which opened her eyes to the lack of accountability and dialogue surrounding Hmong patriarchy in modern Hmong history. This experience inspired her to focus her undergraduate research on elevating underrepresented narratives and addressing difficult memories as a means of community care and preventing historical trauma. Stephanie now serves as the Prevention Coordinator at End Domestic Abuse WI (The Wisconsin Coalition Against Domestic Violence), where she continues her advocacy for marginalized voices. In her free time, she enjoys cooking and spending quality time with her community.
