Mission
The Pointer Pep Band started as a class in Fall 1982 up through Fall 2018. From then until Spring 2024, it was a student organization. Since Fall 2024, the pep band has been a separate organization under Athletics. We are a successful growing group of musicians who are always working to achieve the highest musical standard, while also being an important part of UWSP and the Stevens Point community. Our presence on campus allows us to bring a fun and energetic atmosphere to athletic events. As an example of that, the Pointer Pep Band traveled and supported our athletes at the following events:
• The 2025 NCAA D3 Women’s Basketball First Round in St. Peter, MN
• The 2024 NCAA D3 Men’s Hockey First Round in Adrian, MI
• The 2023 NCAA D3 Men’s Hockey Quarterfinals in Adrian, MI
• The 2022 NCAA D3 Women’s Volleyball Second Round in St. Paul, MN
• The 2019 NCAA D3 Women’s Volleyball Sweet 16 in St. Thomas, MN
• The 2019 NCAA D3 Men’s Hockey Championship in Stevens Point, WI
• The 2018 NCAA D3 Men’s Hockey Semifinals in Lake Placid, NY
• The NCAA D3 2015 Men’s Basketball Championship in Salem, VA
• The NCAA D3 2010 Men’s Basketball Championship in Salem, VA

Our Athletic program is extraordinarily successful, and the Pointer Pep Band is always willing to help bring our support and energy to our athletes, students, and fans of the games.
