Welcome (back), Psych Members!
We hope your first week back on campus (or back to online learning) has treated you well. As the semester gets going, we have our first club meeting NEXT WEEK ON WEDNESDAY at 5:30 PM in D223 (Science Building).
Just a couple of notes:
- We are going to be meeting more frequently this semester than in previous semesters--biweekly!
- We will be basing our meeting schedule to also accommodate the meeting times of our sister club(s). Specifically, Neuroscience Club is also meeting on Weds. at 5:30 PM, so we will be alternating most weeks with them. If Psych Club doesn't have a general meeting schedule for a week, you should check Neuroscience Club to see if they do!
- We'll send out a (tentative) meeting schedule shortly -- be sure to check our Instagram as well as we may post it there before email-blasting.
- We have more events planned this semester to hopefully bring in more guest speakers -- keep an eye out for some returning events such as Grad School Night (faculty members present on and discuss their experience with applying to graduate school and being a graduate student) as well as Resume/CV Night for some training on preparing these important documents -- both will likely fall sometime in October.
- If you're interested in research and, specifically, in how it looks and feels to present research papers, Neuroscience Club is hosting a Mock Symposium on October 22nd -- we will not have a meeting on the 22nd to avoid conflicting with the event.
That's it!
Hopefully, the start of the semester goes smoothly, and you can stay on top of your busy schedules! As always, don't hesitate to reach out if you have suggestions or questions regarding club goings-on.
Have a great couple of days and weekend! Cheers,
Zach
