Mission
The mission of Rising Voices Poetry is to provide a fun, safe environment for the students here at the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point. We strive to encourage individuals from any major or skill level to express themselves in a constructive environment that celebrates their efforts. Here, we practice reading our poetry and the works of established poets ranging from around the 1800s to the present day. This club also works to include and celebrate the diversity of writers and different poetic forms around the world. Additionally, we focus significant time on free writing and collaborating with one another through interactive, poetic reading and activities. We strive to establish a positive view of poetry that very few have had the opportunity to experience, so that our fellow peers may go out and share that positive experience with others.
