We would like everyone who will be attending AMUN to start working on the Country Factsheet (complete it individually and only fill it out for the country you will be representing). Please try to have as much as you can done by the next meeting, but don't worry if you don't have time to finish it. The Drive version is available here and the Word version is attached at the bottom of this email. Some helpful links for completing the Country Fact Sheet include the CIA World Factbook and Freedom House.

The Country Factsheet only covers general information about your country, but if you would like to begin researching your committee feel free to check out the following links:
- United Nations website (see what the UN is currently doing about the topic)
- AMUN links to the webpages for each UN committee (understand the responsibilities and scope of your committee)
- AMUN 2024 Handbook (includes a general overview on each topic and several sources to begin your research)
All traveling members are required to pay a $50 due for the academic year. If you are planning on attending AMUN, please have this paid by October 7th. You can either pay Maddie or Nicole in cash at the meeting, or pay with cash or check at US Bank. The club's US Bank account number is 182379383827. If you choose to pay this way, please take a picture of your receipt and email it to Maddie (mbaet531@uwsp.edu) or Nicole (nkurs525@uwsp.edu). If you need any financial assistance or an extension of the due date, please reach out to Maddie.
As a reminder, AMUN takes place at the Sheraton Grand Chicago from Saturday, November 23rd to Tuesday, November 26th. We will be taking a coach bus to and from Chicago.
A note on NMUN:
NMUN (National Model United Nations) will be held in the spring in New York City. We can only take 12-13 members, and would like those traveling members to have some previous experience. So if you are interested in attending NMUN, we highly recommend attending AMUN this fall if you are able (if not, we will likely have another opportunity for hands-on experience later in the semester). NMUN hosts two conferences over two different weeks, however, we will only be attending one of these. Please fill out the survey at the bottom of this email so we can determine which dates work best for the group. The options are April 6-10th and April 13-17th.
Our next meeting will be Monday, September 30th at 6pm in room A201 of the Science Building. We hope to see you there!
