At the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point, student health and well-being is an important part of successful campus life. Our Fitness and Recreation programs are run through the University Centers, a division of Student Affairs​. We offer several FREE programs and fitness spaces for students to maintain healthful lifestyles:

The Allen Fitness Center is a student-led workout facility​ located in the Allen Center. Starting Fall 2022, this facility will be FREE for students who are actively enrolled each semester.

Group Exercise offers free fitness and yoga classes for students throughout the year. All Group Exercise classes are held in the Allen Center.

The bulk of our programs are housed in the Allen Center, located in the heart of the Residential Living​ area of campus. Fitness and Recreation Programs strives to provide a safe, friendly, and diverse environment for students to be active and improve their well-being.​

Students and staff of the University Center gathered in spring 1997 to put their ideas for the brewhaus on paper and put a plan in motion.

The department formerly known as Recreational Services was moving to Allen Center to create better access to their equipment. The space it was vacating was unique in size and structure; some paneled walls, carpeted floor, cement floor and a variety of pipes running through the ceiling. It was a "perfect" place for a coffeehouse/pub!

The organizing committee struggled for a long time with a name for the department. But after seeing the location and the budget, the "basement" theme seemed appropriate. Since a lot more than coffee and beer would be brewing in the new area, the committee combined the physical location with what was happening and came up with the "Basement Brewhaus."

To keep with the theme and the budget, the staff spent the entire summer before opening scavenging through rummage sales looking for furniture, lamps, board games and anything else in a typical basement recreation room. The staff also spent countless hours painting water pipes, putting up wall decorations and arranging furniture.​

Today, the Basement Brewhaus hosts performances, sells hot and cold beverages and provides a fun filled atmosphere.

Campus Activities and Student Engagement (CASE) offers opportunities for UW-Stevens Point students to develop personally and professionally. We offer transformative leadership opportunities that help students become change agents to improve their campus, community, and the world.​ CASE is home to 200+ student organizations UW-Stevens Point has to offer. We help students find employment opportunities on and off campus. The office coordinates volunteer opportunities throughout the greater community and coordinates service opportunities nationwide and abroad. Plus, CASE brings fun programs and activities to campus to foster a sense of belonging and to provide enriching experiences. CASE is part of the Division of Student Affairs and University Centers and is dedicated to providing opportunities that extend beyond the classroom.

The College of Natural Resources (CNR) at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point (UWSP) is widely regarded as the nation’s leading undergraduate natural resource program with deep roots in Wisconsin’s strong conservation heritage, inspired by pioneering leaders such as Aldo Leopold, John Muir and Gaylord Nelson. We currently have more than 10,000 alumni, over 1700 undergraduate majors and 180 faculty and staff.

The strength of our program is in its interdisciplinary approach and emphasis on hands-on field experiences. Students within the Forestry, Wildlife Ecology, Fisheries and Water Resources and Soils Disciplines participate in a summer field experience at one of our field stations or in Europe. During these summer experiences students gain knowledge and skills that they can use in real world situations. Our students within the Paper Science and Engineering Department culminate their program with a paper mill internship where they gain real world experience. Our Graduates can be found all across the globe working in various Natural Resource fields and in the Paper Science and Engineering arena.

The CNR Student Success Center (SSC) is a student-centered facility created to help our students succeed during their time at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.

CPS consists of four academic units, which house 19 different undergraduate majors, 9 minors, 16 graduate programs and a number of additional options.

Sentry School of Business and Economics offers bachelor’s degrees in accounting, business administration, business economics, data analytics, finance, management, marketing as well as a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Applied Leadership and Decision-Making.

School of Education offers bachelor’s degrees in early childhood education, elementary education, physical education and special education. SOE also offers minors in early childhood special education and exceptional educational needs as wells as a master’s degrees in education and an Ed.D. in Educational Sustainability. SOE also provides the required education coursework for all UWSP teacher certification programs.

School of Health Sciences and Wellness offers bachelor’s degrees in clinical laboratory science; communication sciences and disorders; dietetics; family and consumer sciences; health information management and technology; health science and wellness; nursing; and sustainable food and nutrition. This super school also offers master’s degrees in athletic training; community and organizational leadership; healthcare administration; speech and language pathology; and sustainable and resilient food systems. Finally, SHSW houses the clinical Doctorate in Audiology and Doctor of Physical Therapy programs.

Department of Military Science offers a minor in military science.

The UWSP Counseling Center provides mental health services to the UWSP campus community. We provide individual and group psychotherapy and we act as consultants for the entire campus when a student or staff member encounters a person or situation that concerns them. The UWSP Counseling Center provides education & prevention programs throughout the year, targeted at increasing awareness of mental health and preparing campus community members to be responsive when complicated situations involving mental health arise. We respect and appreciate individual differences and cultural diversity. Our staff is sensitive to the uniqueness that arises from different backgrounds, sexual orientations and gender identities, financial resources, religious affiliations, veteran statuses and levels of ability. Therapists at the UWSP Counseling Center work collaboratively with students to promote positive changes in a manner consistent with the student's own worldview. Therapy services are available at no cost to currently enrolled students. Our office is on the 3rd Floor of Delzell Hall, is open from Monday-Friday from 8am to 4:30pm, and can be reached at (715) 346-3553.

The primary mission of the office of Diversity and College Access (DCA) is to improve the retention and graduation rates for underrepresented students by promoting their academic and personal growth. DCA assists in the personal development of African-American, Asian American and Pacific Islander, Latina/Latino/Latinx, Native American students, and LGBTQ+ students. DCA supports student learning both in and out of the classroom setting. Diversity and College Access also supports pre-college programs for low-income, first generation, and academically at-risk high school students.

What does the MRC do?
We help support, advocate for, and refer students of color to both on and off campus resources to ensure that they don't just survive on campus but THRIVE. We also have a general hang out space that students are welcome to use to build community, study, watch Netflix/Disney +/Hulu, play games, check out a book, and enjoy free snacks and printing!



When are you open?
The MRC hang-out space is open to all students as long as the DUC is open!
