Student Interest Representative (SIR) Application for 2026-2027 Academic Year

This application is for a Student Interest Representative (SIR) position in the Student Government Association. This position is supervised by the Speaker of the Senate and will serve a minimum of 1-2 hours a week.

Position Qualifications:
1. Must be a student at UWSP
2. Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0
3. Must be carrying a credit load of at least 6 undergraduate or 3 graduate credits

Primary Job Responsibilities:
1. Represent the students' interests surrounding the purpose of their designated SGA committee
2. Keep students informed on topics coming before their designated SGA Committee
3. Be open to feedback from other students
4. When informed of a problem, try to find a solution, or utilize your resources to find the best person/dept. to address the issue
5. Become familiar with shared governance, finance, System policies and university policies, plus Robert's Rules of Order
