About Us

The Fisheries Society is an official student subunit of the Wisconsin Chapter of the American Fisheries Society (AFS). The primary goal of the WI AFS is to increase and perpetuate the recreational, aesthetic, and economic opportunities provided by all fisheries resources, including game and non-game species, in Wisconsin.

The Fisheries Society student subunit strives to ensure that members:

  • Gain valuable work experience through projects
  • Learn up-to-date methods and technical skills
  • Keep up with current issues through speakers
  • Benefit from the team-like atmosphere
  • Benefit by being part of an official subunit of the WI AFS

We meet every Wednesday at 5 PM in TNR 170 (occasionally other locations) - come check us out!
