Week of October 12: Week 7

Hello Education Majors:

Beautiful weather, homecoming, and Brewers baseball….. October is the best.

Registration

If you have not done so yet, look in AccesSPoint for your assigned registration appointment date and time. It is within the “my classes” tile.

Take care of your holds NOW, so you can register as early as possible to get the classes you need.

All students are required to meet with their assigned advisor to get the advising hold released. Keep an eye out for an email invite and schedule an appointment right away.

*If you are currently student teaching, make sure you have applied to graduate

**If you are student teaching in Spring 2027, you will soon be getting an assignment in Canvas telling you what to do for registration

Opportunities

The School of Humanities and Global Studies invites students who may be interested in teaching Spanish, German, English as a Second Language, English, or Social Studies an opportunity to meet local teachers in these areas. On Tuesday, October 13 at 5:00 in CPS 209 you can discuss career options and ask questions. All are welcome to join!

The Teacher Job Fair is this week Friday from 11-1 in the Laird Room in the DUC. All education majors are welcome to come. Over 50 school districts will be in attendance, eager to talk about potential practicum placements, student teaching placements, and possible employment opportunities.

  • Professional Education Program: If you missed the application deadline but needed to apply, submit an application, and indicate it is a “Late Appeal Application”. Submit before the November 1st 4:00 PM deadline. Link to Professional Education Program Webpage
  • Need a practicum placement? You can stop by or email a request by emailing SOE.practicum@uwsp.edu. ALL practicum placements need to be done through the OFE.
