Disclaimer

We do ask community members to report your name, frequency of volunteering, and hours worked. This data is simply used to verify student status. Our annual report to the US Department of Education is a simple share that includes the following:

Total number of students (no names) who volunteered off-campus

Estimated total hours of all these students.

UWSP Campus Activities and Student Engagement (CASE) resources are provided free of charge to community members and to student job seekers. All organization and implementation of volunteerism performed by student volunteers is handled directly between the student and the community member. CASE does not perform background checks on students volunteering, nor on community members posting job opportunities. Community members and students are encouraged to request reference information from each other as needed to establish qualifications, credentials and overall fit between the volunteer opportunity and the student.

All volunteering opportunities are posted at the discretion of CASE. We will not post opportunities that appear to discriminate against applicants on the basis of race, color, religion, creed, age, national origin, disabled or Vietnam Era veteran status, sexual orientation, disability, or gender. CASE will not post opportunities that require purchase of a product(s), or a financial investment to volunteer.

Land Acknowledgement

UWSP exists upon land inhabited by the original indigenous people of this area, including the Ho-Chunk, Menominee, Ojibwe, Potawatomi, and many other nations and groups that predate colonial borders. We acknowledge that with colonization Native American people have been dispossessed of their lands and irreparably changed by the actions of individuals and institutions. We acknowledge our responsibility to understand and respond to those actions. In partnership with the Native American Center, we commit to working together to honor the past, be intentional in the present, and to build our future with truth.
